MDCP is absolutely excellent place to receive vocational training as part of workforce development in PG County.
Unfortunately DS was accepted into McIntire for that degree in Plantation Management.
Is this a racist comment?

My DC from magnet had 4.9 GPA, 1580 SAT, 10+ AP, all 5s. Had something like 62 credits going into college.
CS major, cisgender, white male, zero hooks, - rejected at UIUC, and wait listed at Mich.
CS major is very very competitive even for high stats students. So, unless your DC is a DEI or has some other hook, some of those colleges will be a reach.
Having stated that, I would look at Vtech over UVA. My DC was considering VTech but UVA wasn't even on their radar.

UVA is ranked higher for CS than Tech and has much higher admission standards but neither are all that great. The OPs kid has amazing stats so should be able to get into a lot of schools. If not they must've done an awful job on their essays.

Yes, get in first then we can talk. Once in, what is the wash-out rate for CS students at public universities? It's sink or swim. At Private, attrition is less likely.
