LOOTING. IS. NOT. ABOUT. BEING. HUNGRY.
It is a crime of opportunism.
How about you go watch the "Meatball" livestream... that dumb idiot livestreamed herself going from store to store looting up until she was surrounded by police getting arrested.
It was not about being hungry. Any of you still saying that after this is either an idiot or is doing a poor job of trolling.
Of course it’s not about being hungry in THE MOMENT you dummy.
People don’t organize en masses to get dinner. Looting and rioting are boiling points of accumulated anger over desperate conditions for a LONG and sustained period of time.
This is seriously the dumbest right wing trolling I’ve seen in a while.
Nice try in an attempt to deflect the crazy in the Democratic party.
This is the exact sentiment of the left wing of the Democrats.

No, they are not desperate. Looting booze, iPhones, and Lululemon pants is sheer greed and lawlessness - particularly as most had iPhones to film themselves for social media. What we have are entire communities of young people that aspire to criminality and understand that looting/robbery in large numbers will lead to zero repercussions. I call this laziness, drug use, lack of education, want of SM praise, and all the other vices. Blaming this on anything other than that is willful blindness.

This was not "the masses."
This was around 100 people who chose to be criminals because they saw an opportunity.
They were not looting out of desperation. They were looting because they saw an opportunity and think they will not suffer consequences.

When DC had looting at the same time as protests, many looters were not from poor DC neighborhoods, and not even from DC. Stores in NW DC were hit by coordinated carloads from the suburbs. They saw an easy opportunity while law enforcement was distracted, similar to all the business people who committed billions of dollars of PPP fraud and other Covid fraud to loot taxpayers when they knew they could get away with it.
They may not be poor, but they are from Philly. Law enforcement has said that.

This is the result of years of liberal policies of trying to shut down police and give criminals more rights. And here we are. I hope all the stores move out of low income neighborhoods. Stop spending money in these areas. Move all services out. These people deserve jail and nothing more.
I suspect there will be a R landslide in the next election cycle. I've never voted R in my life but see now that the soft on crime policies were clearly wrong. These people deserve absolutely zero sympathy. They're thugs and are destroying our cities.
Bigoted, vile hogwash. You are disgusting.
How can you watch that video and not see desperate people who don’t have enough food to sustain them, and are pushed to acts of desperation like we see here? People with food don’t riot. People who have hope don’t riot. People who believe the6 have a future don’t riot. These are poor, desperate people without hope. That’s what drives them to this.
This is what trump has done to Americans. He’s taken away everything from people who had almost nothing to begin with. Don’t blame these starving people rioting to ge5 food for their children - blame trump. He took away what little they had, and gave it to the rich.
And you assuming these people are starving because…what exactly? We’ll wait.
Every single liquor store in Philadelphia is closed today. So is the Apple store and Lululemon and Foot Locker. Target is shutting down stores in San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, and New York due to rampant theft and violence against employees. Retail robbery and theft cost stores $112 billion last year alone.
It's out of control. This is how food deserts are born as stores shutter. This is how commercial centers die and whither. This is how jobs are lost. This is how prices increase for everyone. And it's just going to continue until communities start arresting and prosecuting the thugs responsible for the mayhem. This has nothing to do with social justice or poverty. These are violent, immoral criminals and they belong in prison.
