OP, we get it. You don't like Fairfax. A lot of people do, and plenty of people don't. Just like plenty of people love/hate/could not care less about DC.

People like what they like, even when you don't. See how that works?

You don't want my life and I don't want yours.

OP here. Back in the day, when we were living in N Arlington, good friends moved to Vienna. We visited frequently. We found it to be very sterile.

Then....don't live there.

Are you trying to be ironic in some way?

The only thing I miss in FC is the park and rec system. The rec facilities are awesome. Don't miss anything else about the place.

There is a good reason why Fairfax County remains top notch for home and business, not only within the DC Metro area limits but nationwide. You can Google all of it.

We live in Vienna/Oakton area. Moved here from Arl. Love the exc schools, low density, virtually zero crime, Metro access, beautiful large lots, with plenty of open space. What's not to like....been one the best places for us.

If you drive out 29 from DC, you would be hard pressed to know whether you are in North Arlington, the City of Falls Church, or Fairfax County bc they are mostly all the same.

I also live in N Arlington - but Fairfax county is HUGE and includes just about every type of home and neighborhood imaginable. If our jobs shifted west instead of being in Arlington/DC, I am sure we could find an acceptable neighborhood somewhere in the sprawling million person county.

We spent almost 15 years in Fairfax County before moving to an exurb in MD. Whenever we go into Fairfax now, my butt puckers. So many people, so many cars. Once I hit my 40s, I just wanted to be around more trees than people. But we have to go back for our favorite restaurants. It’s a trade off.

We’ve had this happen in our western fairfax neighborhood
