I found a lot of the background music annoying and seemed more appropriate for a Batman movie

I think movies always have more impact on big screen but this is a talkie for sure and would be fine at home-
You could actually pause and look up stuff and people.

Did you do any reading on it before you watched it? This movie is best if you read one or two articles as primer. The small effort is rewarded.

I thought they did a good job of showing the prevailing thought of the left at the time — that those concerned about Russian spies were just being paranoid — and then pointing out that there *were* actually spies in the program. It’s even more nuanced when you know that the intelligence agencies had intercepts implicating Fuchs, and the Rosenbergs, etc, but couldn’t use the info publicly because didn’t want to tip off the Soviets. Then the later excesses of McCarthy drove people into even more hardened positions.

It’s interesting that, in the end, they sort of gave Teller the final word — basically, “he’s a loyal American, but erratic and problematic in other ways.”

Kind of interesting but mostly boring, the sex scenes were ok but not enough to save it, I started falling asleep around 2/3 in so had to get up and leave.
