I get the sarcasm, but actually, where i used to drop my kids off, it was a parking lane on a busy road where recently there have been more than 5 car jackings, so sadly, were I in that situation today, I might not take that risk.

OP, follow the lead of others, or ask the school what other do, if you don't know the area well yet, and in the end only you can make the judgment on whether it is safe where you are.


OP explicitly said the car would be in a secure location, so I'm guessing not a parking lane on a busy road.

Our daycare explicitly prohibits this FYI. No children 13 and under are allowed to be left in the car.

As someone who is barely 5’1, I find it really awkward to carry the car seat like that. The snap n go is so much easier for me. Just wanted to throw out that perspective.

I have done this many times for dropoff and the car was always within line of sight. Cracked window open, locked the doors, took key with me, handed off older child to teacher, headed back to car. All takes 1 minute. If teacher wanted to talk or prolong dropoff, I would walk back to the car, get the baby, and go back to the conversation. This is not hard.

Yes i got a nuna pipa specifically so i can grab the baby and go, and she's still sleeping happily
