But I’ve seen similar stickers in the past year.
Are they teaching their kid to maul other kids?

Dunning–Kruger effect

It also matters what other stickers were on the car. I have seen Trump stickers on Subarus before, so it's not a perfect system, but we can learn a lot about the intention of the sticker from its surroundings.
OP here:
It was on the back window of an unremarkable midsized SUV. Maybe a Ford or Hyundai? I can’t remember.
They had a yellow Don’t Tread on Me license from Virginia. I guess that puts it all in context.

PP was referencing the later cover version of that song…
+1. The Ataris. Great cover.
Thanks for the reference! I had no idea there was a cover. Great cover version, too! (Now I need to Google "Black Flag.")
WHAT?? 😑
NP, but the first time I heard that song I had never seen a Black Flag sticker anywhere so I didn't know what they looked like. The next time I saw a sticker with a mostly black flag on it I assumed that must be it. That's how I ended up thinking that the thin blue line bumper stickers were Black Flag stickers for years.
