I mean, a grandmother feeling up a grandchild is also wrong and ridiculous, and that is why it is funny.

2 things happen in that scene:

Jake says that the only reason he doesn't "violate her 10 different ways" while she is unconscious drunk, is that he doesn't like her enough. Not even a throwaway "because she's unconscious! But even if she wasn't..." which would fit the scene and clear it up.

Then, after some innuendo, he tells horny Ted to take her in the car, have fun, and then get her home safe. It's clear from the way he talks that he doesn't exclude sex with an unconscious drunk from "safe". Even if Ted doesn't rape/sex her, it's clear that Jake was endorsing the possibility and not giving any regard to her ability to consent.

Ted's ultimate behavior was within reason if hijinx misbehavior, though his macho talk with Jake was out of line. Previously he was very polite and respectful of rejection when asking Sam to have sex. But Jake put Caroline in danger and repeatedly showed that he was fine with either him or Ted raping her, not because he was hateful, but because he didn't think it was rape.

Watch the scene again. It’s clear that he raped her. Of course, 80’s being the 80’s, she’s not feeling at all bothered and basically assures him that she probably liked it.

I mean … every generation of the last 70 years (until about 5 minutes ago) had a mantra about teens getting wasted and making bad decisions. It *was* fun.

Kids today,,, can’t drive, don’t have sex, can’t talk to another human, are scared to death of everything from the sun to the food they eat to the shows they watch, resolve every dispute or hardship through tranquillizing medication or litigation, and live at home until they’re 30.

Give me the 16 Candles kids any day.

This just reminded me of Zapped from the 80s. Does anyone remember it? Scott Baio gets superpowers and uses it to zap girls clothes off lol.

To say nothing of the fact that any teenage boy given zap powers would use them exclusively to see naked girls. Any teenage boy given invisibility would use it to see naked girls. Any teenage boy with a time machine, a robot, a genie, a magic wand, or a best friend from outer space would use it to see naked girls.

That doesn’t make the movie creepy or inappropriate.
