You seem to misunderstand his goal. He didn’t enter the race to win. He entered the race to get free publicity to increase his statewide name recognition and it worked. He got a positive profile in the Washington Post and was mentioned repeatedly in the same sentence as Trone and Alsobrooks.

Agree. He is simply terrible. He is an arrogant, self-serving fool.
I think he'll have a good chance of winning in this area, but he certainly doesn't have my vote. Cannot stand him.
I dont think he has a good chance of winning a state wide race against people with more accomplishments, more name recognition, and way more money.
I really don't see a way for him to win at all, which makes me think its some sort of "get his name out there" campaign for some future race. All I can figure.
Agree with this. Jawando is an opportunistic career politician. This is the same playbook he used to get the county council position- ran very unsuccessfully for Congress, but ultimately successful in the larger picture because people recognized his name from the many names on the ballot when he ran for county council and threw him a bone (last one in for the four at-large positions). Notice how he was the first mover after Cardin announced his retirement, first mover gets name recognition as NBC4 took the bait and gave him a sound bite on the news. If you look at his bills and track record, he lacks a vision for public service, his vision appears to be a good headline/soundbite and whatever gets him to his next position, which really turns me off. However, he has this slick salesman charm that a part of the voting population seems to like, so he sticks. Has little substance, a lot of grandstanding, but people are swayed by his self-serving style, which is maddening. This guy makes Hans Riemer look good, and that's really hard to do.
The establishment dems hate him though and will probably push for Raskin or Alsobrooks. With Trone running, Jawando is going to get pushed out. He thinks he’s the Wes Moore in this scenario, but he’s not.
