Why are you arguing about the distance from a metro station that’s not even in Maryland let alone Montgomery county? The distance from the Takoma metro in DC is oh absolutely zero relevance to any of this discussion about Takoma Park which is a city in Montgomery county Maryland not a neighborhood in DC.
It's 50 ft from MD and central to the very heart of Takoma Park.
It’s in the edge of Takoma park and certainly not “central to the heart of the city” given that it’s in a completely different city. Only someone who doesn’t live here would say something like that.
It's adjacent to the city center which is why its central.
Come on. Look at any map of the city of Takoma park and it is on the edge and not central. There is no “city center” in TKPK though you could argue that the community center is one and that’s not the same location as the metro. What you are referring to is downtown Takoma park which, again, is on the very southern edge of the city of Takoma park and therefore not central.

Northwood is closer for people outside the beltway, but if this is about close in TKPK or SS, then BCC wins hands down.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:There's also the question of the Purple Line, which will make it much easier to get from DTSS to downtown Bethesda (BCC) once it's (finally) open. If they were smart, they would have high schoolers use the Purple Line rather than buses to get from some neighborhoods in and near DTSS to BCC. There will be lots of neighborhoods that are walkable to Purple Line stations.
+1 The opening of the purple line would bring a lot of new possibilities. A bunch of kids currently zoned for Northwood in DTSS apartment complexes would be able to walk to either the SS library or the SS Metro and ride directly to B-CC.
It would be a 15 minute train ride as opposed to a 40 minute bus ride.
Going from Langley Park to BCC or any W would be super easy even!
Too bad Langley Park is in PG county....
It's part of the cross-country program that a DCUM poster had proposed a year or so ago to improve DEI at West County schools.
This poster was a troll.
