Here’s the truth:
NOVA is better for job growth, safety, public schools, younger people / 20’s crowd, and for people that lean less liberal. MoCo is better for legacy affluent things like country clubs, private schools, diversity, liberal leaning people, nature debatably, and I’m sure some others. Outside of the things I mentioned and overall vibe, it it’s just commute / where you can find a good house — there are gorgeous ‘hoods in both jurisdictions.

Public schools you said? LOL. There is only one good public school in NoVa: TJ. No one cares about any other NoVa school besides TJ.
And the score is MoCo 39, NoVa 5
I’m the poster you were responding to. FFX schools are better than MoCo in 2020’s. I honestly can’t speak to loudoun, Howard, etc. Kind of an irrelevant point for any individual which goes back to the fact that it’s neighborhood specific and folks should decide based on commute and which neighborhood / houses are available when they are looking. Either way, my point stands that the majority of posters here likely need to see a therapist and or get a hobby because most folks in the real world simply don’t get heated about this “issue”.
Publics have been destroyed everywhere. Md has access to the most and best privates. Very forward thinking.

One of the worst counties in Md. but richer than 24 Virginia counties.
Md is an incredible state.

Why does Maryland own the whole River and force Virginians to gawk at its beautiful great falls from land locked parks?
Why doesn’t Virginia have an academic community like Georgetown/Big Ten UMD/Navy Annapolis/John’s Hopkins all in a 25 mile radius?
Why are all the monuments and national attractions on the Maryland side of the River?
Why are 2 nfl teams, 2 Major League Baseball teams, and NBA and NHL team on the Maryland side of the River?
As a Virginian I am beside myself .. it’s totally unfair
Ooof!!!! Obliteration.
Georgetown moved to MD?
Yes.. created by, embedded in and donated by. May take it back at some point like Va did with Arlington
Haha, reflective of Maryland's delusions.

Columbia also rated top 10 best places to live. VA not in top 10.
If you expand to 20, it includes Arlington, but it also includes Rockville.
If NoVa is so great, why is only one town in the top 20 best places to live, but "crappy" MoCo and HoCo are both on the list?
Literally nobody here is bragging about how nova is better than anything in the world.
