Of course the Pentagon and White House are not going to report what they know or plan to do.
Duh!!
The fact that they have done nothing at this point is concerning.
They have known about this balloon for days, if not weeks. It is a fricking spy balloon.
Even the pentagon spokesperson said it was a violation of our airspace and a violation of international law.
And, this administration's response is "Meh. Let 'er fly."
What a ridiculously weak response.
I read from a former DOD they want to collect data and see exactly what it is and info it has which might mean a plan to figure out how to get it down to do just that. They also don’t want China to see what they will do when they launch the real one so they can plan around it.
Why didn’t they just take it down before reaching our border?
Because the rendered it not to be a thread to any American lives and are now using this opportunity to learn about it and its uses/intent.
Please people, they are not idiots.

THEY ARE TAKING THE ADVICE OF THE PENTAGON

This is a real threat to National security. They are likely testing biological warfare.
Hanging out over Montana where there are US nuclear missle silos. And they are buying up US farmland at an astonishing rate.

it's the size of 3 Metro buses.
DoD is tracking it closely, and they have extensive capabilities for detecting nuclear/biological/chemical agents.

I am not a conspiracist on anything. I do happen to be scientist. And I do think this is not good.
I'm not a fool to believe this was an accident.
Our country is bogged down in crap while I think this is one is a major national security event. That with the huge amount of farmland China has been buying up over the past 2 years. And, hey, we are even banning chinese made tik tok.
Americans can keep fighting over themselves about stupid issues while the enemies slowly move in.
Best not to keep your head in the sand over real sh*t.
Agreed. Furthermore, it’s doubtful Democrats will do much of anything meaningful to upset the Chinese Communists.
You realize the Trumps were literally on the Chinese government payroll during the term of the Administraiton, right?
You have them confused with the Biden family.
