Scam-ottery of hb.

Play powerball, better odds.

Your “crummy” number is your number for all of ninth grade. When you reapply for 10th grade you will get a new waitlist number, or be offered a spot, but that would be for the next school year not starting immediately following the lottery.

That’s what I thought. Thanks.

You can see your odds based on your home school:

If you really want good odds send your kid to Carlin Springs or Barrett.

I know several North Arlington families with both siblings at HB. So that is just random luck??

Yes, it’s random luck. We had two get in and two not get in. That’s how the ball bounces.

The odds of that are crazy long.

Not really. I don’t know what percentage of kids are getting in these days, but if it’s, say, one in five then it’s one in five for each kid. It’s not like it’s power ball or something.

The odds of any one getting in is like 1/50!

More like 1:26 at our school, assuming every kid applies

I have 2 kids at HB. One did not get a spot. I was very surprised when the 2nd one got in but I just entered the lottery like everyone else.

I feel really sorry for the parents of the kids who didn’t get in. LOL no I don’t.

Both of mine got in, but one not until 9th grade, and they weren't there at the same time

I think more siblings apply, so it seems higher. Parents are more likely to apply for kid #2 if kid #1 is already there.
