So sorry. That stinks. There are many things that leave me scratching my head and wondering why they happened in this college process.

I swear, it's like a lottery now. That's why even though my kid very high stats (higher than PP's), I was still nervous. They did get in, though.

My DC has similar stats, got in, but DC is away and just said "got in". No communication after that.


My son ever got an email which was sickening but decision was in the portal

so the portal shows honors?


If the student is invited to honors it's in the acceptance letter.

This is not true- You are accepted or rejected from the school first. Then they admit to LEP (Limited Enrolled Programs) so your child can be accepted into UMD and not admitted into Comp Scie, Business and Engineering as a freshman.


Assuming admission to UMCP does the LEP decision come at the saner one or is there a further wait?

This is not true- You are accepted or rejected from the school first. Then they admit to LEP (Limited Enrolled Programs) so your child can be accepted into UMD and not admitted into Comp Scie, Business and Engineering as a freshman.

but you indicate what "school" when you apply.


It says on the website that if you list a LEP but aren't admitted to it, you're put in Letters and Sciences and can apply for the LEP again.

There's a letter that opens with "Congratulations, you're #NowATerp!" and if your kid got into Honors, it is discussed in the second paragraph.

4.67 gpa. 10 AP courses, a handful of AP scores of 5, the rest 4. 35 ACT. Wrote an essay on his learning disabilities and medical issues, and did not have a full course load or many extra-curriculars due to same.
