At this point Bowser couldn’t win a federal appointment as head of a regional office in HUD.
Her poor decision making was evident by her backing of Bloomberg in the primary. She would never even get on a list to get one of those appointments, even though we also know that she’s not competent to do the job anyway.
Bowser’s biggest failing is that she cares more for political favors than results. So she appoints some of the most incompetent and unqualified people imaginable to run DC agencies.
Unfortunately, her lack of respect for administrative competence has led to an erosion of government capacity for service delivery that can be very difficult and will require years of hard work to reverse.
Whenever Bowser decides that she has had enough of DC or someone thankfully offers her a lucrative off-ramp as an exit, it will take decades for DC to recover from the damage.
Looking back in hindsight and by any indicator that people want to use to measure, 2015 was the pinnacle for the city.
Anyone with a brain could acknowledge Tony Williams was a great Mayor. Why would anyone diverge from his playbook?

Maybe Trump will win and have the FBI investigate her.

Everyone assumes that Bowser will go on to a cushy federal appointment or whatnot. Let's consider another scenario. City Paper reported that the FBI and DOJ are investigating former deputy mayor John Falciccio and his deputies concerning DC's transactions with developers, among other things. Falciccio was the mayor's point man for development, real estate deals, planning & zoning, etc. If this investigation broadens, it's not inconceivable that Bowser could be drawn in as well.
Maybe Josh Harris can give her a cushy gig after she sells DC's finances down the drain for the next decade.
I wish I could buy stock in the likelihood of Muriel and the city getting completely rolled in the Commanders negotiation.
Sign me up.
And isn’t everything supposed to be attached to her downtown propaganda? How does this even connect?
Probably that sports and concerts at the stadium would bring in tourist $ and development will benefit the neighborhood. Not rocket science why cities want stadiums.
NFL stadiums are always a financial albatross and the money spent on them could be better used elsewhere. You can make a (flimsy) case for Nats Stadium that gets used 95+ days a year, but not an NFL Stadium.
It's not rocket science why cities want them (most local politicians are very dumb when it comes to finances).
+1000 we do NOT need an NFL stadium in DC.
+2000

I know this is terrible, but I kind of miss Mayor Barry. He was straight up. You knew what's what. You could work with Mayor Barry.
Bowser is bullshit. She's not doing this city any favors.
