Private schools? It’s not that uncommon.
It is not a requirement in any private school in the greater DC area other than one boy’s school in the Potomac area.
It’s almost never a requirement. It is admissions recommendations and not fixed or firm. But May as an informal cutoff is not unusual.
Never heard that at any of my children’s schools.

Simply not true. I worked in admissions at 3 area private schools and this is just not an accurate statement whatsoever.

Not necessarily. My son is one of three boys in his class with late August birthdays and none of them were redshirted.
Same here. My son is one of two August birthdays who are not redshirted. Only one child redshirted because of a disability and this child has a winter birthday.

I have an August girl. We didn’t redshirt. Academics were fine, but socially and emotionally she was definitely more immature when middle school came around.
Yes, I am stating that. And I’m also stating there are immature non redshirted kids as well.
