Even if Putin used "tactical" nukes, the fallout would hit western Russia, not too far from Moscow. This would be the fastest way to topple Putin, IMO.

This is what I don't understand. I mean, Putin can't change the earth's rotation and prevailing winds.

If Putin doesn't go nuclear, being called a "Russian" will probably be like being called a "Nazi" - at least for the next 50'ish years.

If Putin goes nuclear, then he will label being called a "Russian" as something of universal hatred and contempt forever on this planet.

I think it's more that when you're "alone" in the world, you're outnumbered? That's what happens on opinion posts, unless you're like Russia and have lots of private companies blogging for you?

First, the situation is so fluid (ex. Kersh bridge) that Moscow is having trouble trying to spin it. On one hand they want to suppress any news about the extent of the damage so they don't freak out their troops in Ukraine. On the other hand Putin himself is shooting off his mouth blaming Ukraine - giving Ukraine the upper hand as being even more effective militarily (the original storyline was Russians were achieving victories all over the place, remember?).

Second, this could be an indicator that there are big issues in the Kremlin. They way they probably work is they need official material approved by Moscow, but right now Moscow is in chaos. Arrests, power struggles - I'm sure everyone is afraid to put out any propaganda at all for fear of offending someone.
