Kate's dress and hat were more appropriate for the occasion. She (or her team?) has impeccable taste.

Jill is pure class.
Define class!

Jill Biden looks completely ridiculous. TF is that stupid headband?
It looks like something she took off a Playboy bunny.
Really? Worse than the flower on Middleton's mother's hat?

It was an unfortunate choice.

I thought that was the best!

She did look beautiful and regal but dress was nothing special.
That was probably on purpose, you know to keep the attention away from her.
Uh, she's been wearing a lot of enormous jewelry this week for someone who doesn't want the attention on her. I think she's doing some queen-in-waiting drag. Not a criticism -- that's what she is and she and William will likely have very large roles under Charles reign because of his age and the fact that Kate is much better liked by the public than Camilla (though people have softened towards her a bit... but they still prefer Kate).
I didn't get the sense Kate was trying to keep attention off herself at all. I sense that she was fully aware of the attention on her, her husband, and her children and that she was very careful to deliver the right messages.
MM, meanwhile, did seem to be trying to fade into the background. And for good reason -- the press and commentary about her is critical no matter what, so I sense her goal was to be as unassuming as possible and let others have the spotlight. She is at a point with the British press (and many people) where she can do no right.
The Princess of Wales is not making her own clothing and jewelry selections. She would have had a dresser and would have been advised of specific pieces of jewelry that are appropriate given their historical significance to Queen Elizabeth’s reign. She listens to those around her which is part of the reason that she never puts a foot wrong. She didn’t wake up this morning and decide to put on that pearl choker, trust me.
She wore the same jewelry she wore to the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral.
I read that pearls are traditionally worn for funerals and morning, hence the choker. I thought it looked nice, as did the large brooch she wore the other day.

Thank you for this! I had to call my sister to take a look at Jill’s headband. It was terrible. Maybe because of her blond hair?

She often picks clothes that don’t suit her or the occasion. She really needs help.
