Not sure why the right wing keeps peddling the fiction that shoplifting under $950 was somehow decriminalized or is no longer enforced. The only thing that's changed is that $950 is the threshold between misdemeanor and felony. You can and will still be arrested for stealing less than $950.

I’m sorry that critical reasoning eludes you to the point that that was your takeaway.

I’ll break it down.

In this case, rather than enforcing the law that speeding would normally carry the consequences of not being able to renew a license which was as a strong deterrent, because of the disproportiate issuing of tickets, from neutral CAMERAS placed in a locations with the most accidents, the solution is to to take away the law.

Or we stop prosecuting fare evasion. Or we hire “violence interruptors” which studies show don’t work. Or the threshold for felony shoplifting is raised to $950 in California which caused even more shoplifting and stores to close in response which actually made places worse off. Or ap classes are simply canceled…it’s like this lowering of the bar response from progressives especially relating to upholding the law. It’s a sad, mediocre way to approach policy and is a reason they will lose in November. It’s not just inflation, it’s people nationwide seeing that progressives can tolerate a certain amount of lawlessness.
