My sister and BIL went to U of Miami. They both absolutely loved it and had lots of great job prospects upon graduation. DCUM seems to always rag on it, but the people who I know in real life who went there are awesome and have great things to say.

Was trying to get DS to consider the U for CS. Ive never been a fan of FL but tech jobs are heading there. School is pretty aggressive with merit for high stats. Unfortunately DS still isn't interested. Guess we'll have to settle for MIT.

She may want to think more about being okay with larger universities, too, since so many of the great state schools are bigger in size. Then she could add places like Maryland, U Washington, UC Boulder, U Arizona, UCSB, etc.

NU engineering is super tough to get into - always has been, just be forewarned, OP.
Northwestern (NU) is not Northeastern (NEU). Their marketing is confusing.

They may be trying to change to NU from NEU, but ask most people who are familiar with Top 50 universities, and NU is Northwestern.
Northeastern has been NU since at least the 70's. But let's not make this thread about that, shall we? Since it is obviously one of the schools that DCUM likes to go off on.

Since National University has the domain nu.edu
Northwestern should pick a differnet name not to confuse the mass general public.
First thing peole would do to learn about a college is to go to the site.
When people go to NU.edu it's Natioanl Universtiy.
Northwetern is confusing general public by calling itself NU.
They should change it to something like NWU
This is such an idiotic take. No one thinks, "Oh, yes, I just discovered a school called Vanderbilt. Let me look it up at vu.edu."

Half tuition is about $25000 discount. That still leaves about $50,000 per year, including room and board.
