Then I just saw two social media posts about the same. One from a friend who said her family would be attending a protest at X location instead. Another from a friend who announced they were no longer celebrating and would be wearing black on that day instead.
I told my kids our plans got canceled and neither seemed to care. DS said there's nothing to celebrate this year. DD said wearing black is a trend that's going around on tictock along with not buying gas July 2 (or 3rd maybe?) and a women's strike.
I will never not celebrating the day Will Smith, Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum saved us from the aliens.

Do you always just get up and leave if something is broken or hard? I just hate this statement!
She already left one. It is easy for her.

That’s the true American way.
+1. Same. It’s a good day for liberals to make plans to change our country. The Founding Fathers would be proud.
The founding fathers would already be proud that states rights have been restored and an unconstitutional ruling overturned.
You clearly know nothing about our Founding Fathers!!
Seriously. LOL. Americans are such dumba$$es. Even about their own history.

Seriously. Whatever virtue signaling works for you, I guess.
We’re doing what we’ve always done. Zero fcks given.

Hahahaha
Good grief. What joyless, miserable people. We will be wearing our red white and blue, attending a parade, and then bbq-ing and watching fireworks with a bunch of friends. Have fun moping around in black bemoaning that you must drive further to kill your baby. What a bunch of miserable psychos. I’m pro-choice in the old school kind of way (safe, legal, rare), but do believe that as the science of preemie viability changes, the law should reflect that. My daughter’s best friend is a wonderful girl who was a very early preemie. It changed how I felt about second trimester abortion. The nuance of this issue has been given back to the states. It’s unpatriotic to engage in hyperbole that something else has happened.

+1. Couldn’t agree more.
You guys are such dorks, just acting your little hearts out so you can claim common cause with people who actually have sh$tty lives. Over, what exactly? A 6-3 SC decision on constitutional law that you absolutely don’t understand? Don’t you fret there, Delilah, you can still get knocked up with impunity and have it taken care of however you like. You just can’t drive down to the ONE clinic that existed in Alabama and do it there. You weren’t gonna do that anyway.
I’ll be out there in the sunshine, “Ros-ey All Day” to Toby Keith, just a lock stock and barrel classic American celebration. You can sit in the house sobbing like Powder from the movie Powder if you want to.
Toby Keith has stomach cancer. Enjoy that knowledge as you listen to his warbling.
