She has other great options but she is sort of in love with VT, while I am concerned that it is too big. I mean: it's enormous! And she has ADHD. Can anyone comment on how easy/hard it would for a humanities/social sciences kid with ADHD to make friends and manage the various logistical challenges associated with being at a huge school?

Purdue is the better school but... Indiana. Such a backwards state.
My kid went to IU and I hated that drive.
The better school? Not in my opinion.

Purdue Engineering is a much stronger program and has more established programs to support women in engineering than VT.
This!! If you can afford it, Purdue Engineering is the better choice for many reasons.

She commiteed to another school and she's been going through the process of picking out her meal plan, signing up for the roommate matching insta, registered for orientation, we even reserved a hotel for parents weekend so has started to develop an affinity for it. She's torn, she loves VT and they have a better program for what she wants to study, but there are definitly pros to the school she choose as well (not a safety, same par as VT). Finances are not an issue. Why should she NOT go to VT? We're defintily looking at things carefully, just curious about others' thoughts.
