When you all find out the REAL reason for abortion wars I promise your views on this will change.
And you will find out soon. Buckle up. It's going to be a very emotional ride. One you may not be prepared for.

Please enlighten us as to the REAL reason. It really about religion and the definition of life. Please let me know if I’m wrong.

DP. It's mostly about economics. The wealthy NEED poor, disenfranchised people to retain their place in society to support them. If everyone came from loving and educated families who wanted them, who would join the military to fight their wars? Who would do their low-paid, often backbreaking labor?

Some care about abortion for religious reasons. A hell of a lot of politicians care about it for economic stratification reasons.

I think many have a sincerely-held belief that abortion is wrong and that’s why they vote the way they do. But the people who have tons of money and power and aren’t religious? They are just exploring those sincerely-held beliefs. There are so many other issues in the world but those who want cheap labor have managed to put this one at the forefront (and they managed to make pro-choice people seem like the minority when really it’s the opposite).

There are many who oppose it for religion. To say otherwise is disingenuous.

So why should they push their religion on everyone else?

They have a right to cote just as much as you. People vote.

No one should force their religion on anyone else.

You want to violate women with your misogynistic beliefs. No better than a rapist.

I’m not religious. You said no one can force their religion on you. No one is telling you to become whatever religion you are talking about. Maybe jehovah witnesses are knocking at your door. I don’t know. However, religious people vote and have a right to just like you. Unless you are a felon. Their votes may be with religious aspects or influences in mind. If enough of their votes get through, what do you think happens? That’s the whole point of voting.
By the way, you should not use rape as a prop in your arguments, it’s demeaning to those who have been raped and not appropriate.

Would you prefer “nobody should force their religious beliefs on others?” How would you feel if voters elected officials who made laws staying its illegal to have sex outside of marriage or to drink alcohol, or that it’s okay for the police to walk into your house whenever they feel like it?

This kind of “oh well about your rights, the voters have spoken” is contrary to the whole idea of the 14th amendment and the idea of rights in general. It doesn’t matter what the voting majority thinks about contraception for unmarried people, elected officials (right now) can’t stop them from getting it.

Here’s your problem. You don’t like it and want it to go your way.

Better hide your coat hangers and knitter needles from your teenage daughters. Although you might prefer them dead to pregnant.

How many teenagers do you know are getting abortions? Sounds like a different kind of problem should be addressed.

You think teenagers don’t have abortions? Oh, you sweet, sweet idiot.

NP. Really with the name calling? It’s tired and you aren’t doing my self who agrees with your stance any favors.

I am very tired of being expected to be nice to people who think 12 yos who get raped by daddy should carry that pregnancy to term and be grateful for the opportunity to do so. Maybe the problem is that Democrats being nice is making it too comfortable for Republicans to be monsters.

Exactly.

I don't believe any Youngkin voters are surprised that he supports overturning Roe v Wade.
I don't believe any voters opposed to Youngkin are surprised that he supports overturning Roe v Wade.
Literally, I don't think anyone is surprised.

In Virginia the governor cannot run for re-election. Once Roe v Wade is officially overturned, look for Youngkin to push hard on something he'll brand as "reasonable" abortion restrictions in Virginia. This will be his entry into running for President. Virginia sends men to the White House.

My home state, Pennsylvania, has only one guy, James Buchanan, elected President (look him up, kids). Our next most likely candidate looks to be Dr. Oz.
Where's Dick Thornburgh when you need him? (moderate Republican, respected by all, species now extinct)

Not name calling does not mean you are being nice. Again, I agree with your stance however, you sound less than intelligent with the insults and not wanting you to fight with me. Knock it off with being so reactive.

Not the PP but also not gonna sit here and what you try to shame them into being polite to the literal pieces of sh!t on this forum who are striping us of our rights. You calling up Ukrainians and being like - hey now, guys, don’t say anything insulting to the Russians. These people are a threat to me and many I love…no I won’t be ‘polite’

Being “polite” and not name calling are not equal. Bless your heart, you’ve shown your low level intelligence.

Excellent example of polite name-calling ^^

Not to worry, the poster having a temper tantrum and silly analogy about Ukraine has no brain cells to get it.

Wow! Both are bad, but I wouldn’t go so far to compare the two. One is a crime and trauma both physically and psychologically. Check your emotions.
