But somehow they always claim to be ignorant about such matters as boundaries. It’s probably not a coincidence they are so selective in their interests.
Both of them live in the Forestville ES area. That’s the school that really really needs to be returned to Herndon High School. The neighborhood that SH lives in is 2 miles from Herndon and is against traffic so maybe 10 mins tops. It’s 11 miles from Langley and can easily take 45 mins in traffic.
Herndon is full.
Herndon is going to have a lot of extra capacity very soon.

There are multiple projects going on in that area. The Sheraton one will be mostly efficiencies, and isn’t being marketed as “affordable housing” (other than a small # of affordable dwelling units required by the County) but bc the units will be so small, it will be affordable just because of the size per square foot. You can read about this at https://www.bizjournals.com/washington/news/2022/02/25/jbg-sheraton-tysons-hotel.html. This will be marketed to young professionals and wont be much of a worry for NIMBYs re school attendance zones.
Then, there is the Dominion West project linked in the Inside Nova article. This is an awesome project that will help fill some serious needs for affordable housing in the area. This is the project that the NIMBYs have to worry about re brown kids going to their schools.

And Abrar Omeish is concerned about interested students at AP schools not having access to IB at Marshall, which of course becomes even less likely if they load GCM up with more affordable housing.
Mark Frisch won’t care. He’s just a puppet. Don’t get your hopes up. He needs to be recalled or voted out asap. Horrid human who cares more about his own gains than the children he represents. We failed by voting him in!!

Anonymous wrote:Definitely should be Langley, especially with Langley projected to be under-capacity. Just logistically makes sense. The fact it would add some SES diversity to Langley is a bonus, doesn't need to be the driving reason. The only issue I can foresee is the split-feeder from MS and not sure if the capacity issues there can be similarly resolved as easily, but that seems secondary.

Anyone?
Why are you asking others - why don't YOU bring it up?
