But reality is Florida needs Disney more than Disney needs Florida. The legislature could reverse this next year, which would still give DeSantis a win among the GOP base and preserve Disney’s special district (and Florida’s typical pro-business stance).
Disney is leaving Florida. They will be followed by the other theme parks.
Good luck. It's not like you can just pick up icons like Epcott Center and Magic Kingdom and leave. The Disney logo literally has Magic Kingdom. If Disney leaves where are they going to go that will also give them all of the tax breaks and exemptions from local laws regarding land development, water run off, etc ? Certainly not a blue state since Democrats are against tax breaks for corporations and would be against relaxing environmental laws so that a mega corporation like Disney could move in and do whatever it wants on the land.
It is DeSantis raising taxes again. He needs to pay for his big government plans for thought police and omnipresent government. Let’s face it he will not stop at Disney. All the internal email of every company in Florida need to be reviewed and approved or punished by DeSantis. So Disney is just going to abandon this and then dump 50-100 billion dollars into a new theme park that will take a decade to build?
OK
