Apparently, they thought they could force a candidate into the position with fake outrage. This whole ‘disrupt’ movement is out of control.

This, and any notion that this is a “grassroots” campaign by the NAACP and others is pure horse$hit. I would venture to say there is carefully orchestrated campaign even here on DCUM with many of these anti-FCPS threads and posts. There are deep pockets (ie Koch, DeVos) whose sole interest is in dismantling public education. The more chaos there is, the happier they are.
This reads like one of those John Birch Society types who thought that Dwight Eisenhower was a communist plant.

Anonymous wrote:All this does is just underscore once again how completely inept and corrupt this School Board is. They are an echo chamber of party activists who advance their own agendas and they hand-pick who gets to have a voice in their decisions (hint: agreeing with them in advance is what matters).
The Fairfax NAACP doesn’t usually object to that process because they usually have an outsized influence on FCPS, but in this particular instance they didn’t like the School Board’s apparent preference for Reid, so they decided to foul the nest, ostensibly by claiming about the lack of transparency but more obviously to try and promote Logan over Reid.
Not surprisingly, it’s backfired, since Logan withdrew from consideration over the past 24 hours and some of the Democratic loyalists are demanding an investigation into who breached their NDA and disclosed the finalists to the NAACP.
The irony, of course, is that all the inside baseball and treachery demonstrates why so few qualified candidates were interested in the position and why the replacement of the back-stabbing hacks on the School Board in 2023 is far more important than the appointment of a new superintendent in 2022 (after all, a new School Board can terminate the contact of Reid or any other puppet the current SB appoints this year).

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Why couldn’t FCPS have conducted a transparent process in the first place with, say, four finalists that met publicly with community members, not the usual hand-picked insiders?
FCPS screws up everything it touches.
Do you want your current employer knowing that you are looking for a new job?

lol less than 24 hours after the NAACP endorsed a candidate, she withdraws.
The article says she withdrew a week ago.
