NP. I know this is a very risk-averse group, but I just want to say that I had plenty of unprotected sex over the years (I’m now 44) and never once caught an STD. So many people here seem to think you’ll automatically catch something the first time you do it raw, but that simply isn’t the case. Maybe it makes you feel better about the very small, constricted sex lives you’ve led?

Unfortunately, because people like you have dominated the cultural conversation, our kids are happily stewing in each other's foul juices without hearing adults who tell them STD rates are rising dramatically.

It would work. That's basically what high-filtration masks are. But apparently some of us are too precious to wear them.

Go ahead - wear your high quality mask. No one is trying to stop you. But for people who are already vaxxed and had covid - they can make their own decisions, for example.

Over 90 percent of the human population has been infected with Epstein-Barr (shows up in mono in comes cases) and it's linked to all sorts of other diseases down the road. The vast majority of people never have a problem and a few do.

HPV is similar. Thankfully there is a vaccine now for the strains that cause cancer, but there wasn't in our generation. 80 percent of sexually active people have HPV.

It's called living as a human on this planet.

Also the majority of people out there have had covid. Just anecdotally everyone I know except for a few people has had covid and I’m unaware of anyone who is still sick. For most people it was a mild cold. Most people read news stories about long covid and ignore. Earlier on during COVID it was easier to get scared since there were more unknowns. But everyone I know is back to normal and recovered from omicron. Even if they hadn’t - don’t know what we can do forever to prevent catching COVID.
