I don't support the convoy, but everyone here claiming there are no mask mandates, technically mostly correct, but we had 2 years of onerous mandates that just didn't make sense. Most on here would love for the mandates to come back.
False! The mandates have always been situational, as circumstances warrant, and based on the numbers and advice of scientists and public health experts. ALWAYS. NOBODY was ever in favor of permanent mandates regardless of whether there's a pandemic or not.
Well, in DC, the schools aren't following CDC guidance that schoolkids can unmask indoors. Hell, some schools aren't even allowing kids to mask OUTDOORS.
I don’t know if that’s true or not, but either way shouldn’t that be something DC residents handle?
Yes, it's true that DC is not allowing schoolkids to unmask indoors, even though the CDC says that DC is in an area of "low" risk and that mask mandates (including in schools) are unnecessary. DC is not following surrounding areas or other major cities, in lifting mask mandates for schools indoors.

Ok. Are DC parents protesting? If a truck driver has a child in DC Schools and wants to protest the wearing of masks, so be it.
I doubt that anyone connected to the advocacy to end mandatory masking in DC schools wants anything to do with the trucker convoy.
But it seems sort of hypocritical for DC residents to smugly state that there are no unwarranted covid restrictions when they've got one in their backyard.
Maybe DC residents are ok with it and think it’s warranted?

It might.
Let’s try to keep this thread about traffic.

Yes, we’re talking about traffic.
