Hey FunForFamily, we were wondering the same thing. Looks like they’re still doing ID sessions.
We received this from Fairfax BRAVE:

When will offers start going out?
Offers will go out after the next round of ID sessions. No offers have been sent because we want to allow everyone to attend an ID session. However, rosters will be made after the next round of ID sessions. If you are interested in playing ECNL, don’t miss out!

When will the coaching staff be announced?
We will be announcing the boy's staff in the coming days.

Here’s a link to all the upcoming sessions. Good luck!

Not sure what changes BRYC boys coaching staff may see, but on the Fairfax BRAVE side of things, they have posted a boys staffing update at https://www.fairfaxbrave.org/boys-ecnl/boys-coaching-staff.

It has representation from by BRYC and VYS along with a GMU assistant coach to help make selections: The FX BRAVE SC ECNL Staff coaches who will be leading the 2010, 2009 and 2008 ID sessions as well as evaluating the players for roster selection will be Gene Mishalow, Oliver Weiss, and Kevin James*.

FX BRAVE has additional coaches confirmed that we are not able to announce by name because they need to honor their commitments to existing clubs. Once those commitments are completed, we will be announcing the full slate.

Not from my perspective, except boys' coaching slate should come out this weekend. I think it was a good move to have one, and it sounds like there will be another one this spring as more details and information have come to light. There simply is a lot of questions and details still to be finalized (e.g. fee structure, uniform costs [reviewing bids currently]) and typical things out of their control, just like with many others, (e.g. which fields they will get permits for for use etc.), but at least stating that is better than no communication at all.

I'm curious to see who the boy's coaching staff will be. Any word with what's going on with the current bryc boy's coaches?

Are the current BRYC boys coaches leaving to start the NVUFC?

That’s the rumor. The Welch’s own and operate NVUFC and are trying to convince all the BRYC boys to join. They have even gone so far as to suggest NVUFC may get into ECNL. Laughable. Good luck.

This will further dilute an ECNL effort for BRYC/VYS. Neither can complete now.

The haters are coming out. I think this is a good sign for Brave. Haters want to maintain the status quo or have an axe to grind. I hope it works out for them. I don’t believe it will be a huge impact for the older ages but if 2-3 starting caliber players move, this could make a huge difference. At the younger ages, the core VYS + Bryc players will result is a strong team. More organization as I see that they’re hosting ID session, which I don’t remember bryc doing before. Boys side looks like it needs work but I believe this partnership was probably to shore up the girls side. Consolidation is good and it looks like a true partnership, not some feeder agreement.

Frankly, I'm shocked VYS would consider a merger, given BRYC's current mediocrity.

I’m not sure I understand the recent posts. On the girls’ side, based on past results, I would expect more VYS girls to join BRAVE at the younger ages than BRYC.

The 2009 BRYC girls went 0-17 in ECNL, never scored a goal, and gave up 103.

The 2009 VYS Phoenix team finished 2nd in their ECNL-R division, with 24 GF and 7 GA. Yes, a lower league, but those results are wildly different.

For the 2010s, BRYC’s went 1-5-1 in EDP Premier I, with 4 GF and 22 GA

The 2010 VYS Phoenix team finished first in pre-ECNL (6-0-1), with 32 GF and 6 GA.

I’m not sure which BRYC U12 girls team is near the top of the state rankings?

Did you see the BRYC bridge team (which is actually good but not part of BRYC ECNL system or eligible to play for them) or the EDP team that went winless got beaten by a cumulative of 70-5 in the fall. The differential would have been worse had they not forfeited a game. Also, multiple players from this team moved on. So, if that's your idea of a team, go for it! https://system.gotsport.com/org_event/events/4848/schedules?team=225546
