Yes, this is accurate.

Girls pretty much only wear black leggings. Guys wear joggers or shorts (yes, even in the winter).

My 14 yo has maybe 3 pairs of jeans because she just doesn't wear them often. She does, however, have 23 pairs of black leggings and she can tell the difference in them all.

She will come home from school and take off her "school" leggings and put on "lounge" leggings, which are older ones that are somewhat faded and overall more comfy, according to her. How a pair of leggings can be "more comfy" is beyond me, but teenagers, man.

My teen sons both wear mainly sweats/joggers in the winter and basketball shorts in the summer. My one son has ONE pair of jeans and only because I bought them for him because I told him that he cannot go out to eat with me at certain restaurants in sweats.

It’s winter in Chicago. I think the look they’re going for is called “warm.”

At least they’re covered, right?

Yes I was educated in the US. There are parts of the US that are majority white; there are also pockets of the US that have a ton of Asians, or Hispanics. Not everything has to devolve into a race issue.

This thread is about how kids dress for school, and you guys make it about race.

We live in a Nordic country and the kids here dress exactly the same.

At one point, jeans were strictly for farmers and ranchers because the jeans were work clothes. Do you wear jeans? Are you a farmer?

I know it’s not fair those white kids aren’t gracing any colored folk with the whiteness of their white presence. They are keeping all the whiteness to themselves and it’s just not right.

I personally think it's fine as long as they all have equal resources and access to a good education and childhood.
