But your point is moot b/c that particular coach has been not playing kids all season long, even in blowouts. And there is no way a good coach can't get every kid a few minutes of play time, even in a competitive game. Come on, that's ridic.

This. FCBYL is supposed to be travel light. Every kid on a roster should play, if they aren't good enough to play, then they aren't good enough to roster. This isn't the finals of some national tournament where the coach shortening the bench is understandable, this is 5th grade local ball.

No but it is playoff time in what's supposed to be a very competitive basketball league. While I think playing time should be given out reasonably during the regular season, I think it's perfectly acceptable come playoff time for teams to try to win. Players are told they are joining a competitive team/league so it's to be somewhat expected. Not to mention if player hasn't been putting in time/effort of other players during the season. Playoffs to me seem like right time to play to win and play the kids that have earned the minutes.

Right. That’s why it’s honestly better in fcybl to be one of the best players on a D2 or D3 team then player 7-11 on a D1 team.

That’s why I wouldn’t put my child on a team if he’s not top 6-7 player. Fcybl or not , most coaches wants to win so it’s tough if your child is not part of the rotation.

Well at least there's a consensus that any sane family would avoid the Nova Cavs 11U team or any team coached by that guy. Its good to have solid intel if my kid wants to try out for spring basketball in the future.
