One does not need to be a fan of Loudoun to see that the correct change was made in this instance.

Loudoun won the bracket last year, current ECNL standings are very strong with providing Union their only loss in the fall. This is the right call.

Next year none of you will care. Your kids will be more interested in either getting recruited over some rivalry game or they will lose interest in soccer due to other priorities (friends, boys, etc). Freshman year is the last year these travel soccer rivalries matter.

Loudoun 07 ECNL beat NC Courage 2-1 in fall. Also finished with less loses than Courage in ECNL play. Also only team to beat VA Union in ECNL league play. Move makes sense

It is not uncommon to move teams around. A coach who knows his best player is not available might ask the organizers to move the team down a division. Another coach might not feel the travel justifies being placed in a lower bracket. I know the in one age group there are several teams in the championship bracket that I wouldn't consider better than teams in the next hour highest.

It would be very interesting to know the conversations that Loudoun had with the Jeff Cup organizers after their 07 ECNL team was left out of the U-15 championship bracket when it was publicly announced last Friday! I'd also be curious to know how the Jeff Cup organizers explained their subsequent "change of heart" to NC Courage after congratulating the teams, including NC Courage, who were apparently selected for the championship bracket. Very, very interesting indeed...

I always thought they listed them based on who they thought would win the bracket.

I think they try and balance it out within a bracket on the “A” side and “B” side. Then, once that is done, I think the teams are listed alphabetically by state (so the Maryland teams will be listed before the Virginia teams). That’s the way it seems to look for my kid’s bracket, it seems.

I get that they try to balance out the two groups in a division (although in some cases, it looks like the top two teams are on the same side), but I'm not seeing alphabetically by state. If that were the case, VA teams would always be listed last, but that is not the case. I'm seeing sometimes VA teams are above NY teams, sometimes below for example.

Why don't you... let them figure it out on the field?

They will. Just trying to figure out the rhyme and reason for listing of teams. You would think it would be alphabetical if they didn't want to order it, but its not alphabetical.

Who cares? These are young girls and boys playing a game they love. It does not matter whose team is listed first, second, third, etc. All of the teams near the top will be solid. Let them get put where they may and play who they get matched up with. It really does not matter whether they are listed first or eight. Over the top crazy parents...this comment above is an example!

I’m an engineer. That is how my brain works. I try to see patterns and like to know how stuff works. If you don’t know the answer, just move along. No need to act high and mighty. There is a lot of knowledgeable people on this board so I thought one could make sense of the order.

I think it’s the built up regret for past poor behaviour and pressure to keep up the house of cards he has built. The lies and need to gaslight everyone to his script so you don’t look closer at exactly what he has done to a once great club that is in a decline under his watch. He knows no other serious club would take him on after what he’s doing to FCV

Fun. Plus 2 months of complaining that FCV is in the championship bracket of every high school aged group.
