They taste like blood and dirt, right? I love them but you are like my dad. He’s not a picky eater at all ( he grew up poor) but this is how he feels about beets (and liver). It must be minerals that you can taste!
I think we all taste the minerals it’s just a matter of whether you like the mineral taste. I suspect people who are low iron like beets more than others.
Interesting. I love beets, but I'm a pretty big meat eater. Just ate a big bloody steak yesterday.![]()
That is interesting!
I love beets too, especially Harvard and pickled. I am often anemic.
Not anemic at all, and I love beets boiled, pickled, borscht. I did try then grated raw for salad but did not care for that.
In general I really like root vegetables.

I noticed this, too. Both the free-range and the conventional. Dark, breast, combined, etc. Most, but not all of the time, it tastes gross to me.

How do you feel about pickled stuff? Because this is exactly my brother in law’s list. Also no dill.

My answer is cooked salmon. I just dislike the taste.

I don’t really care for most offal but that isn’t something I’m served frequently.
For those who dislike the taste of jarred mayo (not that I think anyone should eat it since it's not exactly healthy or anything) you guys should try Japanese mayo called kewpie if you need to use it in a recipe. It tastes really different for some reason.
It’s made only with yolk and has msg in it
