Until this moment I have never heard of the “conviction integrity unit” and I bet 99% of all
posters in DCUM were in the same boat
unfortunate name - reminds me of a govt agency name The Simpsons would use
It also makes me think this is a smaller unit that has work that could be done by a larger department
anyway I do feel bad for employees who were let go bc losing a job sucks
So because you hadn’t heard of it, it must not be important?

I don’t vote republican because their policies are even worse for the working class and worsen social inequity. But JFC how much do you think the average person who is struggling cares about a couple of state level lawyers (read, people who make more $$$ than most and have more opportunity to land on their feet) and the fate of some housing discrimination lawsuits?
You are right that a lot of people don’t understand the significance of this, if they are even aware that it happened. That’s why those of who are aware and do understand should fight back against it.

However, this GOP will use lies and rig the system in their favor across the country, and it impacts us all.
They seem to believe the promise of this country only exists for them — according to their terms even though they and their viewpoints represent the minority. They don’t believe the blessings of liberty should be extended to anyone who doesn’t look or think like them. They bathe themselves in red, white, and blue and call themselves “patriots” when they are exactly the opposite.

What are you talking about? Virginia isn’t closed and people are already working?
+1 The current Virginia unemployment rate is 3.4%, you wackos.
Virginia's GDP has taken a nose dive. It's not going to recover by itself.
Really? That’s interesting since BEA shows Virginians GDP increasing meaningfully each of the first three quarters of 2021, more than the drop for all of 2020. Four quarter numbers aren’t in yet, but given how much revenues exceeded projections through December, it seems unlikely GDP will drop in the fourth quarter.
We will see. If there was any recovery, it was at the expense of small business and almost certainly centered on Northern Virginia thanks to the enormous subsidy that is the federal government.
You will need to show your work for that, because it sounds like you are making up facts to support a false narrative.

Virginia does fairly poorly by any metric.
