I’m vaccinated, but my 14yo son is not. Not a chance we’ll be eating anywhere in DC. Either NoVa or MoCo for now (until MoCo passes the same nonsense).
Nonsense? Seriously? What about the people who work in restaurants? They should have to serve people who are actively flouting public health guidance and common decency?

Who in DC is going to have the guts to stand up first against this? Anyone?

It seems some are still under the delusion that vaccinated people cannot get covid or spread covid and that only unvaccinated people can get it and spread it.
That is not the science.
Curious how tourists to the region will take this mandate.
Remember - people do not NEED restaurants. Restaurants, though, NEED people.
Grocery stores, pharmacies, and big box stores are exempt from this mandate.
That, right there, proves this isn't about science, but about retribution.

Good. It worked.
DC will bleed money. Just got asked by a friend to go downtown between the homeless tents, boarded store fronts, and vaccine cards, we don’t need to spend money there. Not sure about PP but I’m rich, so lol sure keep me and my money out. I predict City Center starts shutting down in six months.
You’re delusional, and you’re not one iota as important as you wrongly think you are.

I have not been dining out specifically because there is no vaccine mandate. However, I did book a trip to NY which has one in place for pretty much all entertainment and tourist activities. While I personally think the omnicron surge has overtaken all of this, it's a good precedent and when the surge subsides will encourage me to do more in my hometown of DC. It's beyond time for this. Now Biden needs to impose a vaccine mandate for air, train etc. travel.
Have you been watching the Covid numbers in NYC? How do you think a vaccine mandate makes it safer for you to eat inside at a restaurant.
Vaccines make it so that the person who has been vaccinated is less likely to be hospitalized or die. However, a vaccinated person can still catch and transmit Covid. A restaurant is no ‘safer’ with a vaccine mandate. Despite what Pfizer wants you to believe.

Yep. Good for you! You won. Kept me and my money out of DC. Good work. You can pay yourself on the back as you walk by the shuttered restaurants and closed up shops. You can feel good about your ‘win’ but it is a bit sad for the employees and small business owners who have already suffered and now will suffer more.

With you. I am vaccinated, but do not support medical coercion, something that I was taught in all of my Medical Ethics classes. - MPH
.
MPH as well here and I’m glad DC is finally implementing vaccine mandate. Seems easy to say that we are all looking out for our best interests when most people don’t care about the community and continue to not mask properly or go out with covid symptoms.
A vaccine mandate isn't going to force people to wear masks or modify their COVID behavior. It only affects the rule followers who already do these things.
