I adopted at 45 .., forties were easy … now I feel my age as DC is a teen. However, we have a good relationship and DC trusts me, which is great.
However, there are many adoptive parents in the area who were older than me.
Many adopted kids end up needing special Ed services and mental health services - no boggy since many bio kids do as well.
Join CASE if you can - And use an agency that offers post adoption services.

Go to a single mothers by choice meeting in DC. There are lots of single mothers by choice in DC. You will be able to talk to lots of women like you and form a support network.
