Sadly, it is true. Capital was completely unprepared for the reality of recruiting in the Covid world for the 22s last September and the new owner did not step up. I’m glad for the 23s that Capital learned something but it sucked for many the 22s.

Hero’s has a Princeton and Notre Dame commit also maybe a few others not noted in the long post of stats

Congrats to all the girls who want to and are getting to continue to play and have found a good fit school for them.

It just seems like a ton of talent to not be a top 5 team? Based on the stats given above, clearly Caps have more commits at this point as compared to other top clubs, yet ranked not as high. I mean 15 commits is a ton. A starting team plus half of a second team are committed. Doesn’t add up to me.

Who cares if Capital beat the other teams on this list aside from Hero's? Those Capital players were able to get into some fantastic schools. They will get a great education at those schools.

I have no 2023 horse in this race, but fret not Capital parents, based on this poster’s review and opinion, when comparing Capital players committed to Top 10 lacrosse programs (4) to the No. 1 and 2 2023 teams: Top Guns (5) and Grizzlies (4) - your “mixed bag” of lacrosse players are holding their own just fine. Not too shabby a share of what may be about 60 - 70 total recruiting spots.

Best of luck to all the girls in their process - for whatever reasons they choose to purse a school/lacrosse program.


Do you really think there are only 60-70 recruiting spots? Try about 4 times that. Scholarship spots, over 100, but recruiting spots? Hundreds.


**Per grad year, for the top ten schools. Yes, 60 - 70. Maybe 60 - 80.

I hope the girls had (have) fun playing on Capital. They used Capital to increase their lacrosse skills and get into some top colleges. But they are supposed to care that they lost to the other top teams? I would imagine when looking at the big picture, that is the least of their concerns/regrets.

Did you guys beat any of these clubs this past Summer? I believe I read you got Hero’s a couple of times. How bout the others?

With all this talent (theoretically Cap could have 10D1 players on the field at the same time), you’d think the team would dominate these teams. Even w equal play time, they still have 5 D1 on second wave of girls. Head scratcher.


A few things to consider:

1) Many of the early commits prospects arent looking for grant-in-aids which is why some of them commit earlier
2) Highly academic schools tend to offer much earlier (and demand earlier responses) since they are recruiting from a much shallower pool of kids. Lots of ivies and near ivies (Stanford, Duke, Georgetown) on this list.
3) Transfer portal is impacting # of offers. High academic schools offering a bit more than normal; other schools offering less

Capital has 15, VA Metro has 4, Skywalkers has 7, M&D has 7, Hero's has 10, CT Grizzlies has 10, LI Top Guns has 9 and LI Yellow Jackets has 9, and only Capital (Cinci commit) and LI Yellow Jackets (Goalie commit to Stanford) have anyone committed to D1 programs from their second team. Capital is no more of a "mixed" bag than other clubs, but their 2023's are doing well so far and are sure to have more committed by the end of the fall season.

Did you guys beat any of these clubs this past Summer? I believe I read you got Hero’s a couple of times. How bout the others?

With all this talent (theoretically Cap could have 10D1 players on the field at the same time), you’d think the team would dominate these teams. Even w equal play time, they still have 5 D1 on second wave of girls. Head scratcher.

The poster with the stats and the “spreadsheets” for the past few years - what will you do when your daughter graduates and lacrosse is done?? I really worry about your psychological health. Maybe really think about another hobby now so it won’t be as dramatic. Maybe something not as pathetic as this total obsession of yours.
