Out of 17 VYS teams in NPL/VPL only the following 5 teams have winning records:

G U14, U17, U18

B U12, U14

Winning is everything.

(Actually, I'm kind of surprised by the boys.)

I'm sure all the boys in 2007 would agree. How many is that? Eleven?

BRYC is a *different* club, one that won't travel at all at the early age groups and then travel all over creation at the older age groups. It doesn't have the wide range of integrated programs that VYS has. It has a massive divide between House/ODSL and Elite Academy.

Some good teams at BRYC? Yes. Some are even great. But that only means a handful of the top 5 percent of players would have a decision to make between BRYC and VYS.

Pardon my ignorance but what is the 2007 reference about? Thanks.

I just realized I had it wrong -- 2004, not 2007. The 2004 birth year.

Let's think about this for a second...
Didn't you just waste time posting on a VYS board?

And even the coaching part is debatable, as kids that have played for him several years now have not progressed as you would expect. So the question is, if he is so great, why does he coach at VYS? How many (watered-down) State Cups has he led his VYS teams to?

But hey, he won some awards years ago so he must be great. Why don't you take your kid to VYS and find out?

Well if you're such an expert, then why aren't you taking his place? What is on YOUR resume, and what is YOUR experience that qualifies your opinion over his?

Because I get paid a hell of a lot more than a washed-up soccer coach. And the players I was talking about eventually got demoted, so even Hank, after some delay, realized his tryout evaluations were wrong. But, if VYS wants to pay me an equivalent amount to get someone with a better eye to do their player evaluations, I'd consider it, but then, my opinion was the same as every other person who had watched them play before.

You just proved you don't know anything about developing youth soccer players......

I get paid more, and hence I am better.
Classic d-bag response.

Does Hank have a day job? I don't know. But I know a few coaches who have rather impressive day jobs, so I wouldn't assume I get paid more than they do.

And yes -- classic d-bag response.

So its beyond the realm of possibility that an experienced seasoned well-respected veteran coach with national credentials might see some potential in some soccer players and give them a chance to be challenged (which is one way you develop soccer players)? But I guess you already know that....

Ditto. Total douche.
