How the hell were the Duggars to know this at that time? He was working as a State Trooper. He was a State Trooper they knew so they approached him.
This was a responsible thing for the Duggars to do. Go to a State Trooper.
This obnoxious attitude is what gets me. "I object to the type of counseling he received."
All you liberals think you should be able to tell people how to live their lives.
So what if they go Josh Christian counseling as opposed to secular counseling. It is essentially the same. How many ways are their for a counselor to tell him "Don't do this; it is wrong; it is harmful." Josh gets that now.
It is not rocket science. Some secular PhD was not going to do anything differently.
The Duggars have shown by how they handled this that they were concerned about and cared about all of their children. They did not sweep this under the rug or ignore it. It tore up their family. They took many steps to ensure it did not happen again and they did it in such as way as to ensure their daughters' privacy and to ensure that their son's life was not ruined. he was 14. His behavior was wrong. He has not reoffended. The Duggars have not blamed their daughters. They blamed Josh and themselves.
Get over it you judgmental idiots.

I think this thread has been discovered by the family's professional apologists.

I won't say they knew the state trooper friend was involved in child porn. But seriously, it seems like everyone they knew has been in trouble for sexually molesting children and/or failing to report it, child porn, etc. It seems to be a trend, there.
And Michelle later corrected herself, Josh was not sent to any counseling at all, only manual labor.
Your comment that "it seems like everyone they knew has been in trouble for sexually molesting children" - what a load of garbage.
I can't stand all of these ASS-umptions and exaggerations and out right lies about the Duggars.
It is horrible. It is a smear campaign simply because they are fundamental Christians and don't support Gay marriage. Who cares if they don't support gay marriage? I don't care. They believe in traditional marriage. This doesn't mean that they are hypocrites or support child molestation. Geez.

Stop twisting the facts.
They were very upset and sought guidance from 1. a State Trooper and 2. Their church leaders.
they sent Josh away and he got counseling. Girls got counseling.
Ok. I heard they are available to babysit your kid. You ok with that?

Huh. I did not know Andrea Yates was also a Quiverfull. From the article:
Before the Duggars, the most famous Quiverfull parents might have been Rusty and Andrea Yates. Rusty encouraged his wife to continue having more children, regardless of the fact that a doctor had strongly advised against it: Andrea was experiencing mental breakdowns, suicide attempts, and hospitalizations caused by postpartum psychosis during previous births. After her husband left her alone despite a doctor’s orders to never leave her unsupervised, Andrea Yates drowned all five of her children.
