I think the rule of not discussing minor children, even if it’s positive, is a very good rule.

For Catholics it was required until Vatican 2 on the 1960s. My mom and grandmother hated hats and were thrilled for it to go away. Some weird Catholics still cover their hair in church as a religious thing not a fashion thing. Would not be surprised if scalia’s wife, for instance, covers her hair in church. It’s often the same group that want to bring Latin back and won’t allow girls to be alter servers or have laity give communion.
