Don't push your kids into this, because once they get to college they will fall apart if they don't love the sport and are not on the same level as the other players.

My DD is also at a high academic but mid-tier D1. She got some playing time freshman year but thought very seriously about quitting. She made a great group of friends outside of FH, so that did help. In any event, sophomore year started out horribly and all I could think about was how much I wish she would quit. It's just takes so much time, takes away from academics, clubs, etc. and from social life. But then, she started playing, her bond with her teammates because incredibly tight, and all is going quite well. So, all this to say, hang in there. The second season can get better!

Top 50 D1 team out of a total of 82 D1 teams. That’s impressive.

Why are you even here anymore? You promised not to post and yet you persist - and not in the RBG fights evil kind of way. You provide no value, you are clearly bitter and maybe even playing games with people. Maybe it’s fun for you to absolutely poop on girls and their parents, but it kind of paints a very sad picture.

Maybe learn to keep your promises.

My DD had a D1 offer from a top 15 school (academic rank). But did not take it. So you need to check your assumptions. And maybe be a little nicer.

How is she enjoying Virginia Tech? Does she play club?

I read your posts about your average children and I just feel so sorry for you. Oh, how you have failed as parents.

Did she also graduate high school in two years and start medical school at the age of sixteen? I am sure she is curing cancer as I type. If you're not adding value with your comments, then just don't comment.

I am so sorry to read this. It’s upsetting to hear about a talented DD being undermined by a club coach. It’s crazy how much the club coaches can influence your daughter’s recruiting especially when it’s not a favorable solution. Unfortunately you hear about it all of the time with many DMV coaches. Usually it’s too late to do anything about it since it happened behind her back before you realized their nefarious actions. Trust in the recruiting process is a difficult thing. If your daughter is not an obvious favorite….RUN!

Ummm…you’re being trolled.

Thank you for your kind words. It was a very difficult year. She was so angry at me for not letting her go to Fairfax HS. She (we) are convinced she would have been treated better by the club if she had. I just wanted her to get a good education.
Anyway, it turned out fine. After a year of playing D3, she recognized that fh just wasn't that interesting anymore. She dropped out got a job at SeaWorld in Florida. She performs with the dolphins-- all those years of ballet paid off I guess.
