I don’t really care if those Republican trad wives don’t vote. They can’t seem to make good decisions, so it’s probably for the best for them to stay home.

This is a perfect example of what is wrong with the democrats.

80% of voters want this. But the educated elites say the voters are too stupid and the elites will decide what is good for them.

Thank you democrats!!

Iran war is a disaster. Gas prices are rising. Economy is tanking. So what are Trump & Republicans singularly focused on? Making it harder to vote, naturally.

Haha, oh boy.

This is sad.

they are not against voter ID....they are against voter ID that is a poll tax, or increases barriers to voting. There is a difference.

Also the SAVE Act requires states to submit their voter database for inclusion in an error-riddled federal system which constantly purges legal voters.

Read the WSJ editorial.

Many Republicans don't want it either. Democrats are more likely to have the appropriate documents anyway. Good luck!

Ok, your concern is noted.

The Senate must pass it immediately.

How can democrats be against 80% of the US voters and expect to get re-elected?

the democrats offered that bill in 2021 and the GOP voted against it. This bill is not that bill and does a lot more that suppresses votes.

Have at it. It will benefit Democrats in the end. Thanks!

WSJ edit board trashes SAVE America Act:

Good point. How many JD Vances are out there, who changed their names every time their mama brought home a new daddy, but never found a friendly techbro to put them in the UMC so they could afford passports?

I mean, I’m glad that they pressed him, but we already know that this is about disenfranchisement. I’m very much wondering if a majority of the yes votes are in the Epstein files somewhere.

Of course it's about disenfranchisement. But we can always count on Republicans to not think things through. In general, married women who have changed their names are more likely to vote Republican than unmarried women or married women who kept their names. Older people who are more likely to vote Republican are also less likely to vote in person when the weather is bad or the lines are long. Republican voters tend to travel abroad less and are therefore less likely to have passports. And on and on. In the aggregate, this bill is likely to disenfranchise more Republican voters than Democrats.

It reminds me of Republican redistricting efforts when they assumed Latinos were solidly voting for the GOP and drew the lines accordingly. Well, it turns it 2024 was a blip and Latinos are largely voting for Democrats again. Redistricting ended up putting a lot more seats in play in states with large Latino populations. But none of this should be a surprise. Just look at the modern Republican Party in the age of Trump. Not exactly a bunch of rocket scientists.

This. My MAGA sister doesn't have a passport or a Real ID. No passports.

Maybe her birth certificate.

But the paperwork from the divorce she hid? Probably not. She likes to pretend it never happened.
