Super curious what the overlap is because I’m guessing it’s pretty high.

Anonymous wrote:Obviously not all male teachers are pedos. Not even most. But those that are and traffic in child porn as JC allegedly does likely know each other. These networks have existed all over the world. It strains credulity to think that these pedos operating on the same campuses may not know each other. According to the press release, JC was trying to recruit another abuser and that is the nature of the charges he is facing.

I saw a story about hidden cameras in hotel rooms.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:His colleague placed cameras in the bathrooms at BVR. Are you ok with that, PP?
Of course I'm not! But that was his colleague 15 years ago. And if he did it now, the sweep would find them. What Toth did at Beauvoir long ago is not a reason not to send a child to NCRC today. What whacko logic.
What makes you so confident that there are no cameras in the school today? Esp. In the bathrooms?
IF they have done a sweep, I would trust that. And you'll have a fit over this, but, honestly, to me that sort of camera is smoke, not the fire -- a child would likely never know the difference is they are filmed. There could be video taken surreptiously of any of us or our children out there on the Internet and we don't know.
I feel so badly for your children
What do you do? Remove your kid from every school where this may have happened? It can happen with coaches. Stop letting your kids play sports now. It can happen anywhere and I’m sure Ncrc is crushed by this but what more can the parents do? It can happen at any school, as evil people are everywhere.
This problem is handled swiftly in public schools in our region, not covered up as in this and the colleague’s case. There are protocols that all certified teachers and administrators must follow which is why you see stories in the press when predators are outed. It doesn’t take over a decade.
What knowledge do you have a cover up? What protocols do you think weren't followed? This case is bad enough without people chiming in with accusations based on conspiracy theories. I've worked in both independent schools and public schools, and if you think the public schools have some magic protocols that mean they are more likely to identify people like Carroll much sooner, you are very naive.
Case in point LAMB charter school in DC. Admin and parent board failure to act when issues were brought to their attention. I have no idea about BVR and NCRC but time will tell. With LAMB it was staff telling admin and board about what they were seeing and a complete failure to act by them.
Anonymous wrote:Fact: A shocking percentage of the male employees at NCRC/BVR are abusers

I never had reason to believe there was a problem but I wished I just knew the norms and that the (private) school was straight with me from the onset. Send out their policies so no one has to fear judgment or retribution for asking.

We live in the neighborhood and witnessed journalists and reporters outside all morning. How were parents able to send their kids to school today after this disturbing news? Why has this become so normalized - that children and staff are expected to return and carry on as normal the following day. What is this area turning into
It feels cruel to judge the parents here who are just trying to navigate an extremely tough and complex situation. Some people may not have had a choice to pull their kid out of school. Some may have thought continuity was the best for them. Regardless it is none of our business. Personally, I will save all my judgment and anger for James Carroll.
If you are paying $40,000 for prek, you have choices.
I also wonder why a parent who had choices would willingly send their child to a preschool that is run by a man? Especially when they get “bad vibes” from said man! Have we lost all common sense?
It’s just bizarre how desperate parents are to get their child into certain schools. For what?
Lots of schools, including preschool programs, are run by men. And heads of schools or school divisions have a lot less day to day contact with students than teachers do.
In the United States, men comprise 2-5% of the preschool teachers.
Approximately 90% of reported child sexual abuse involve men.
Having a man heavily involved in a preschool is not the norm!
It's really not. I have never felt comfortable with the male teachers in my children's younger grades. Something just doesn't sit right about a man wanting to be around such young children. But, we have thrown biology out the window these days, so who knows.
