This isnt the issue.
The issue us that age guy wants older players to play down against younger ones. When you add grade to US Soccers eligibility matrix it makes it impossible for him to try and sneak in playing down.
Even more of an issue to age guys play down agenda is if Aug birthdays play on their correct grade in school team. This is because when Aug birthdays play on their correct grade in school team everyone on the field is the same graduating year. (except holdbacks) Which ultimately is what college coaches want when recruiting/scouting players.
And by forcing kids to play up, you ALSO disadvantage MOST of them (a few will rise anyway). So, all you are is asking for special treatment for kids who remain playing on age.
Stinks to be a June or July birth in soccer now not August.

Now, you're arguing for grade year (which I know what you really don't want) But here you are AGAIN, because you want to placate college coaches.
100% School Year aka SY
Aug birthdays playing on their grade in school team is 100% allowed by the rules and has nothing to do with Grade Year aka GY
No team in DMV is forcing kids to play up and no team is offering parents to choose playing up. Therefore this argument is academic, aka pointless.
Dont be so sure about that.
How about I provide links to team rosters for this fall once they're available. That way you can see the coincidence of all players with the same graduating year.
If I provide a club name you'll just say "no they're not" so its pointless.

BUT your argument for it is based on what college coaches want. Take that to its conclusion means just do GY. Force kids to play up and you simply disadvantage most of them sending them to the bench/less playing time.
Nope college coaches will get 99.9% of what they want if Aug birthdays play on their grade in school team.
Holdbacks aka cheaters can play on a team their age allows. They are also free to attend college id camps. They're not going to pad their stats playing against younger players.

Making things easier for college coaches is not the same as something being in the best interest of each individual player.
Correct, which is why I said "most likely X grade" on my matrix. You cant list a bunch of grades that might be an age group because any grade can be in that age group.
College coaches drive club soccer when players get to HS. Like it or hate it. Which is why everyone caters to them when players are older. They are the glue that keeps parents paying club fees. If college coaches scouted HS soccer games nobody would pay for club soccer for olders.

Except August kids playing on age with kids a grade below were no holdbacks. Science and stats say it increases their chances to play in college on age in youth soccer as the oldest vs playing up as the youngest.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Everyone would do better at communication if they learned about the ladder of abstraction. Grade guy doesn't understand math
2010s born after 8/1 are most likely to be Sophmores next fall or Juniors. Which is why below is mathematically correct.
Grade guy doesn't understand math
Still 100% correct.

This is for next fall when SY starts.

11v11 = U18/U19 = ≤ 8/1/2007 ≈ Senior
11v11 = U17 = ≤ 8/1/2009 ≈ Senior

Using U14 as an example what this is saying is...
Grade guy doesn't understand math
1. They play 11v11
2. Players turn 14 after Aug 1
3. Players are younger than or equal to 8/1/2012
4. Players are most likely in 8th grade or Freshman
