This isnt the issue.
The issue us that age guy wants older players to play down against younger ones. When you add grade to US Soccers eligibility matrix it makes it impossible for him to try and sneak in playing down.
Even more of an issue to age guys play down agenda is if Aug birthdays play on their correct grade in school team. This is because when Aug birthdays play on their correct grade in school team everyone on the field is the same graduating year. (except holdbacks) Which ultimately is what college coaches want when recruiting/scouting players.
Making things easier for college coaches is not the same as something being in the best interest of each individual player.

Now, you're arguing for grade year (which I know what you really don't want) But here you are AGAIN, because you want to placate college coaches.
100% School Year aka SY
Aug birthdays playing on their grade in school team is 100% allowed by the rules and has nothing to do with Grade Year aka GY

Well, if it's so toxic then maybe the trolls will move on. The problem is there are 2 locked in a struggle against each other.

This disadvantagimg them cuts their chances by playing in college by probably about half while doubling their chances of quitting. ECNL Guy has got it figured out.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Everyone would do better at communication if they learned about the ladder of abstraction. Google it!

And by forcing kids to play up, you ALSO disadvantage MOST of them (a few will rise anyway). So, all you are is asking for special treatment for kids who remain playing on age.

Adding fillers and unnecessary adjuncts just junks things up and makes it incorrect.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Seriously, that's been you for almost a year. Why do you care so much about forcing grade year on August kids but not the other months? Another Facebook thread where a parent with a Seotember birthday kid is asking about what to do this fall. All the comments suggest playing up so they're not misaligned when its time for college recruiting.
Im starting ti see a pattern here.
Oh yeah, ALL the comments ...
She is in a great spot because she will be one of the oldest on her team so likely bigger and faster. Statistically the kids in the oldest 1/3 of any age banding do better and get more playing time in athletics. My kid was part of the first switch from Aug cut off to birth year. She will adjust and be just fine.
Theres always one moron trying to give bad advise.
What's incredibly frustrating about all this is you dont understand math. Everything you do is an agenda. If you did understand math you'd know that the correct matrix that includes grade is the same thing as what US Soccer provided.
You dont like the grade matrix because you have an agenda to play older players down against younger ones. Putting everything together correctly in a single matrix blows appart your play down agenda.
There is no correct matrix other than to list the age ranges.
Yes that is exactly what someone would say and think if the didn't understand math.
Not everyone does, thus making it impractical. I could create a unique language exclusively for the age change and even list the definitions, but if it's too complicated, it's a failure. I'd say trying to use math to explain something that's not math is probably not a great idea.
I dont cater to dumb people.
The correct matrix with grade is 100% the same as what US Soccer provided.
