Oh the irony of someone coming on here, viewing and commenting that this thread gets no views/comments.

I don't trash people for buying car brands because I prefer a different make, this is no different. Let the BARCA families enjoy their experience instead of constantly defending their decision.

I meant "NOT Lured"

I know -- you can't judge solely by results. But if you're claiming to attract players who've won elsewhere, and now they're losing, it's awfully difficult to call that progress.

I'll say again -- I'm sure Barca is fine, and some of the criticism here is overboard, but some of the defensiveness is also over the top.

No, that is not the basic gist of it. The basic gist of it is that it hasn't lured anyone. What people are saying is some people have chosen Barça for a variety of reasons. Among those players are some top players and some non-top players. Also, Barca hasn't been around for years and years. So that's off too. This is its second year.

And the basic gist of it is that some teams are better than others. Some of those teams are strong and win. Some aren't and don't. I would say the 2001 Garnet team and the 2003 blue teams have very good records, if you had taken a look. Both teams feature several players who play up. Barça doesn't play at at the expense of being in competitive on some level. They do make sure the players fit the team and level of competition. Which is why those teams have been rather successful in EDP.

That's a better gist of it. More could be said, but since your post had a lot of inaccurate comments, this is a start.

No, the basic gist is not that "tons" of VDA players went to Barca. The claim was that a few, probably across a couple of age groups to boot.

Why does everything need to be in the extremes?

So we are one of those families that left a "big" club in the area and joined the ranks of Barca. I won't disclose anything else except for the reasoning behind our decision:

Our club rewarded coaches for Wins, not the measurement of true development. We had a very fast and big front line that scored a lot. Those kids however, couldn't move the ball in any direction but forward. That team lost 5 1st team players to other clubs and we were one of them. The families that left had athletic backgrounds and understood that this system would hit a wall once those fast players were no longer the fastest on the field. Pretty simple.

No, I don't hate the club, no I don't hate the coach, we just wanted something else for our child and Barca has fit the bill.

Folks like you (person that wants specifics) need to understand that there are more unhappy players than there are happy. If clubs were doing things right, you would not have such a steep drop in players once they hit the teenage years. Frankly, you are loosing top players to other sports and other activities associated with teenagers. Our older daughter played on a pretty good ECNL team and after 2 years she decided she wanted to focus on lacrosse so it's not hard to believe that 2 kids left VDA.

It's not perfect at Barca, but I give them an A in coaching, training curriculum, facility, and consistency. I give them a C in communication.

Not a single person was defending the club, simply stating why they are not giving away a certain level of detail regarding kids to a person who demands some level of proof to back up a claim he/she doesn't believe. No such proof is going to be granted and not a single person cares whether or not the other person believes the claim. If it means so much the person can trek out to Evergreen and come to their own conclusion.

Personally, I can't imagine having so much animosity against a startup club that I have zero affiliation with simply because of a internet thread. That this thread triggers the person so much is what is weird. It is just another soccer club among dozens in the area. Skip the thread if you don't like it. If you are curious, then like any other club go and see for yourself. If you don't like it fine. if you like it, fine. The training is excellent the overall talent pool currently is widely varied. But the same could be said for big clubs like Loudoun or Arlington who can be 6 teams deep in gender and age groups.

But to be triggered because a group of parents are happy? That is weird.

I think the "weirdo's" unstated assertion is that FCB is composed largely of second team or lower players dissatisfied with their prior roles on area club teams. It is quite likely that there are a few similarly dissatisfied first team players in there too.
This isn't a knock on the club, it is what happens when any new club is formed in an already overcrowded area, and one should not be surprised that dissatisfied players comprise the bulk of the early adopters. By most reports the club is presenting a good development environment, and if that continues, the talent level of incoming players will inevitably rise.

+1. He's got an agenda that has nothing to do with any of these players.

Not one of the pps. This is such a stupid thread. If you are really serious about wanting to watch the HS age players it’s easy enough. All the older age teams train at the same time on two fields right next to each other at Evergreen every M/W/F. There aren’t that many teams. They will all be doing the same drills at the same time so it isn’t difficult to tell which are the top teams and players.

I just wanted to see if giving a solid example would tease out whether you really want to know or are just going after Barça again. We all see which is which.

So clearly, we could post a full roster of stats. That still wouldn't satisfy you.

Which team are they on? I’d like to watch the team play. The defensiveness in this thread is off the hook.

People are reacting to the tone of posts. Comments like "be specific" are confrontational. Barca moves players around, so it varies. But a DA players is pretty much high school, right? So watch the high school age top teams.

"tone" of the post? "be specific" is "confrontational" language??

I really can't for the life of me understand why someone who is clearly with Barca and knows the specific players and team can't share the information so those of us who want to see it can do so.

Several posters have answered you. Go watch a top high school team play. Done.

Next topic.

Need team year and color, since there is no apparent relationship between color and team level at Barca. There are several teams that match HS level.

Did you read the post? Barça moves players around. Next you will want names, birth years and jersey numbers. The same player may be on blue one week, gArnet the next. You may find him on 2003 or 2001. This is an cademy style club. But if you watch the teams, you will be able to tell.

Can't pin it down, huh? OK--maybe the players have magically morphed into C level players as well. The fact that you can't provide something as simple as which team the alleged DA players are playing speaks volumes.

Tell everyone where your kid plays or stfu already. You have been told many times that nobody is going to give you specifics. Nobody gives a shit whether you believe them or not. So either go out and watch for yourself and answer your own stupid questions or stfu already.
