Some people want permanent masking and quarantines. Those are generally people without young kids (or who have a nanny or a SAHP).
So they would want this forever because it's not like this will be going away. So y'all basically want everyone to never go out. That's basically what everyone on this chain is suggesting (who believe Covid is a threat to society). Short if this, I mean, what else is there to say? I'm hoping that this convinces these people that they are totally unrealistic, selfish (more so than all of us who are basically saying live and let live), and at minimum unreasonable. I think the way to approach living in Covid times is just to accept risk and exactly that, continue living. There's no other way short of stopping to live because you're so afraid of not existing. For those immunocompromised, sorry but you just gotta find a way of living with a society where most are not. We deserve ti live our lives.
I don’t think the majority of the people pushing for restrictions are actually immunocompromised. People that are actually immunocompromised had to accept these risks before Covid, particularly during flu season.
The people pushing mask mandates and quarantines seem to mostly be hypochondriacs with anxiety disorders.
Exactly this. Hypochodriacs and introverts here use the immunocompromised as human shields.
Yes! I think someone finally hit the nail on the head.
I am one of the immunocompromised and I am really starting to get pissed. I (and the rest of us) DON’T NEED THE WORLD TO CONTINUE MASKING TO PROTECT ME. I’M GOOD.
If you're immunocompromised, then you're not GOOD. Sorry, but that's the truth. So I'm going to continue to wear a mask, for your protection. And I urge others to do tbe same. I can't help it if I care.

This is ridiculous. My husband and I are both high risk, we both wear masks in grocery stores, dine outside, etc. We really could care less about what you think. If you don’t need to wear a mask, then don’t. Just don’t judge others for doing what they need to do.
Well if you’re going about your business just in a mask, this isn’t really about you. But there are absolutely people who are pushing for wide-scale *restrictions* at this point in time and not just “people can wear a mask if they want.”
Grow up, no one is talking about wide scale restrictions. However, common sense is to wear a mask when there is a surge, which we are in. Clearly you are lacking common sense.

Well, it’s pretty off putting to be referred to as a hypochondriacal introvert because we are wearing masks. Please post a link where people are pushing for wide-scale restrictions?
There are absolutely people all over dcum calling for mask mandates and quarantine policies, particularly in the school boards. And there are people criticizing others for gatherings and travel.

Hypochondriacs (and control freaks), yes. Introverts, no.
I'm a definite introvert teacher who still enjoys going out from time to time, goes to the gym, runs all my errands in person maskless, etc. I'm not antisocial - I just need more time to recharge. And I understand the importance of in-person education and interactions.
To each their own. We're all able to make our own choices based on our own circumstances.
