Minor league soccer in the US sits somewhere between professional cornhole and pickleball. There is zero prospect for a profitable business. These teams are fun for people with some money to play sports team owner for a little while. Stop talking about player conditions. Even in a more popular sport like minor league baseball conditions are pretty bad and USL has nowhere near the popularity of baseball. USL is a better organized adult soccer league.
Pretty much. You know what’s also hilarious? There are some scattered young bucks going from UPSL (amateur) getting pro contracts in Europe. When have you seen a “pro” in USL-C head over the pond?
Thanks for listening to my ted talk!

Can't expect for him to turn things around completely in less than a year, especially with how difficult LC is with building permits. Sounds like the new owner is getting rid of waste and cleaning house. Throw stones when there's no signs of improvement by the end of next season.
Fair enough. But do you think things got better or worse after he was inserted into the mix?
Was there an expected influx of cash?
Did the players per diem go up down on the road?
Did they start to shorten trips to avoid additional hotel costs?
Did they bus home 4.5 hours after a night game to avoid costs?
Did they tell professional players if they coached VRSC teams they could pay them more?
Did they force players to make appearances at Raventek or face consequences?

Every single one of the coaches had interviewed elsewhere long before the season ended. Some may follow RM west - but those who can leave, are!
Ok so what’s truly pushing them away? Association with a youth club whose former president was of moral turpitude? “That’s it”?
Underpaid - by orders of magnitude in USL
Horrible club leadership
Lack of definitive future plans (USL2?)
Lack of communication
Horrible stadium
Lack of a training facility
Lack of working showers
Lack of rehab facilities
Leadership who wants them to coach their youth teams on the side
Lack of fan support
Players forced to do their own laundry
Players forced to pay for extra uniforms
I can go on…
Go back and read the article on the Athletic and you will see how bad it is.
Can’t find the article! Mind sharing it again? Also, since you sound like an insider, is it true the rumor of Revolution asking $5k to families next year to offset the LU financial current holes?

Told you, player/coach coming up if they survive.
