Like someone who committed domestic violence or worse. There is a reason for the background checks. Who made those decision not to do the checks?

What is he going to do now?
You realize he is in charge of safety and compliance, right? You realize background checks fall under both safety and compliance responsibilities, right?

That was before Taylor's reorg. Jones is now Chief Safety Officer in the Division of Safety & Emergency Management. Compliance falls under the HR division.
Fingerprinting, Background Checks and Compliance have never been under Chief Jones, despite his previous title. All of that falls under HR and until last month was under the supervision of Darlene Harris, who is now the ombudsperson for the Board. Connect those dots if you are interested.
So I suppose that means that if you try to contact boe@mcpsmd.org, you'll get a cookie cutter reply about your input is valuable and thank you for sharing, but your email won't actually get to or be read by the BOE members...

Employees are Employees why do we need a thread for each kind
Every current working MCPS employee has completed a criminal background check. This has always been a requirement before beginning employment with MCPS.
Because MCPS transportation has their OWN HR DEPARTMENT
...Still MCPS employees? So you knew that but didn't know where to find their policies? Lol.
LOL and an audit showed the Transportation HR Dept was not following the MCPS HR policies. Happy now?
