The on-campus construction near the UMD stadium is pretty crazy! Those who haven't been over to campus yet for JOs, allow.extra time to figure out how you're going to get in and out, and don't count on apps to know which roads are closed.

Swimming in finals at PVS Age Group Champs is truly a much bigger achievement/accomplishment than participating in NVSL Divisionals and IAS. Amateur Hour indeed.

No 10 year-old dreams about long course, they dream about all-stars.

Agree.

Plenty of 10 year olds dream abt long course over all stars…namely every kid who is still trying to make an age group zones cut.

Zones don’t seem to really matter until you’re much older than 10. A lot of swimmers with the cuts don’t even attend the meet for SC or LC. Some clubs like NCAP focus on it a great deal, but many, many elite swimmers from other clubs don’t go.

It’s personal preference. Then as the swimmers get older it seems like more attend that have cuts rather than skipping the meet.

Check the line up on the Zones psych sheet from prior years. The meet matters to many people.

Looks like yahentamitsi is an easy walk. Thanks. I’m def looking for walkable from Eppley in between events, not looking to drive. For JOs during spring break, options were very limited.

The Yahentamitsi | Heritage Community dining hall is really good and open to the public. It’s about 1 block from the pool. Hours for the weekend in link below.

There’s also Iron Rooster and Potomac Pizza at the bottom of the Hotel at UMD. Potbelly, Cava, Chipotle and Shake Shack are also very nearby (1 block off campus, but further from pool). There is a parking lot there but need to pay.

The Chick-fil-a in the student union is always our go-to for meets at UMD. This link says it will be open during the meet with the exception of Sunday (of course, it's Chick-fil-a).
