If ICE was actually prioritizing the worst of the worst instead of random stops at Home Depot parking lots, as required by the Laken Riley Act, this guy would have been deported already.

Wrong. ICE receives notifications of charges as they happen in sanctuary cities. The whole point of the Laken Riley Act was to solve the issue of people being released by requiring ICE to go track them down immediately. ICE has simply refused to follow it.

I’m also puzzled by this. It also sounds as if this is only applicable, if an illegal re-entry happens AFTER deportation and then, a subsequent arrest for a crime. This has got to be a very limited number of the 10 million or so undocumented migrants. And many illegal immigrants who do have gang affliction or a criminal record for lesser crimes have never been deported, so this would not apply to them.
